How Many Times a Day Should You Put Sunscreen On?


Applying sunscreen once in the morning is a great start—but to keep your skin fully protected, reapplication is key.


For the best protection, sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours, especially if you’re outdoors. Sweat, oil, and daily activities can wear it off without you noticing.


If you’re mostly indoors, reapplying at least once during the day is still recommended—especially if you’re near windows or exposed to light throughout the day.

Here’s a simple guide to follow:


  • Morning: Apply as the last step of your skincare routine

  • Midday: Reapply before heading out or after a few hours

  • Afternoon: Reapply again if you’re still exposed to sunlight


Don’t forget often-missed areas like your neck, ears, and lips—they need protection too.
